David Kevin (Partner)
David Kevin is the senior partner in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
He joined the firm in 1979 as an articled clerk. Admitted to practise in 1984, David has been a partner since 1988.
David concentrates primarily on Planning and Environment Court work. Conducting appeals, declaration/injunction applications and associated town planning/development advice work for local government and corporate clients accounts for most of his time. David's skill and experience makes him a leading practitioner in planning law.
David also conducts commercial litigation and dispute resolution on behalf the firm's clients.
He is a member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association and an associate member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
Michael Quirk (Partner)
Michael is a senior partner in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
He joined King & Company in 1998 following a five year term as a District Court / Planning and Environment Court Judge's Associate.
Michael provides a number of local governments throughout Queensland with ongoing access to planning and compliance solutions, and desired outcomes for all aspects of proposed or approved development.
Michael is a member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association and an Associate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
Terry Law (Partner)
Terry is a partner in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
Admitted to practise in 2002, he worked in the State's Crown Law office before joining the firm in February 2008. He has acted for Queensland Government departments and agencies in planning, environmental and compulsory acquisition litigation.
Terry regularly conducts litigation in the Planning and Environment Court. His experience also encompasses disputes before the Land Court, the former Land and Resources Tribunal, the High Court of Australia and the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales.
Terry's primary focus is the provision of advice, conduct of disputes and documentation of agreements in planning and environment-related matters for our local government clients. He also represents developers and other land owners in the Planning and Environment Court. Terry is a member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association, Planning Institute of Australia and the State Government's Planning Reform Dispute Resolution Focus Group, which provides input on Queensland's planning legislation.
Kristie Taylor (Special Counsel)
Kristie is a special counsel in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
Admitted to practise in 2003, Kristie has worked in all areas of the firm's operations since joining the firm in 1999, though she now focuses upon planning and environment matters and employment/industrial disputes. Kristie has a broad experience of litigation across State and Federal courts, and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
Reggie Hopson (Senior Associate)
Reggie is a senior associate in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
She served as associate to his Honour, Judge Robin QC, and his Honour, Judge Brabazon QC, of the District and Planning & Environment Courts before joining the firm in January 2010.
Reggie is completing a Master of Urban and Regional Planning, at the University of Queensland, to complement her skills in providing focused advice, documenting agreements, and resolving disputes concerning planning and environment matters.
Michael Cerruto (Senior Associate)
Michael is a senior associate in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
He joined the firm in 2011 and was admitted to practise in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Justice, each with first class honours, at the Queensland University of Technology.
A member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association, Michael focuses on Planning and Environment Court disputes, right to information and privacy law, and general advisory work.

Erin is an associate in the firm's Planning & Environment Group.
Clare Heitkonig (Associate)
Clare is an Associate in the firm's Planning & Environment Group. She also undertakes work in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Group.
She completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business Management, with honours, at The University of Queensland in 2017. Clare joined the firm in 2017 and was admitted to practise in 2018.
Clare works in many areas of the firm's operations, with a primary focus on planning and environment matters, right to information and privacy law, sale and acquisition of land for overdue rates and charges and general advisory work. She is a sub-committee member of the Queensland Environmental Law Association.
